Go to the Lovett home page (www.lovett.org). Click on Middle School. On the next page, look for the link "Curricular Pages" on the lower left quadrant of the page. On the next page, there will be a column in the middle marked "Middle School." The first link is "HOMEWORK." Homework is updated by each core and foreign language teacher by 3 pm daily.
You may prefer to bookmark the links on the back of this sheet, to save time and complications with browsers that sometimes occur.
There is no need to call the office to ask for assignments for routine absences. Should your child need a longer absence, you may wish to be in touch with the advisor or the office.
Hard copies of each team's page and Foreign Language pages are posted by 3 pm daily in the glass box outside the MS office, where there is also a set of magazine racks for handouts (organized by teacher name.)
If a child doesn't feel well enough to complete or comprehend all assignments, we'll help her upon her return, as she visits tutorial with questions. The homework option for illlness is that—an option. The first priority is to heal!

The Internet resource is a great way for students and families to check off work when it's done and make sure each subject got appropriate attention. However, looking at homework assignments on the Internet can't subsitute adequately for a good habit with the assignment notebook. The details and standards come in class -- about how long to spend on each part, what tools to use to complete the effort, and the appearance of a good outcome.
A student who relies only on the Internet will soon find that she doesn't have quite enough information to succeed fully. Nothing substitutes for paying good attention in class and planning independent work in advance. Also, she needs that assignment notebook at her locker when packing her bookbag, as the Internet might be available at home before bed, but it's not in the hallways by the lockers.
As much as we depend on it, the Internet sometimes fails us. Homework given in class is still expected on the due date, even if "my Internet was down."
Class time remains our greatest resource!

There are links on each page to test calendars for the teams and also for Foreign Languages, to help students plan the study efforts in advance.
Questions about the content of the homework webpage should go to each teacher from that student. Learning to ask these questions and get necessary information is a vital student skill under development!
