| Link to Downloading Firstclass When students enter fourth grade and fifth grade they begin using their Lovett email account in First Class. First Class is the email program used at Lovett. This account is provided for educational purposes. Some teachers use email more than others but as your child gets older he/she is more likely to get teachers who are using it more frequently. We use it in the Lower School in order to instruct the students on how to use First Class and email etiquette and safety. During our lesson on email, we talked about the different ways to access First Class from home. You can download the software, free of charge, or access email through Lovett's webpage. The computer department highly recommends downloading the software to your home computer because it's faster and it provides more functionality to other tools that they would otherwise not have access to. As mentioned earlier, you can access email through Lovett's web page but it does have a different interface and works slightly different. For example, to send an email the students need to know each other's log in name which includes a student's middle initial. If they are working from the software there is a directory thatcan be accessed by knowing just the last name.
