Introduction

A web site is rarely just one computer file. Web sites usually have many different files of the following types:

• HTML files, one for each page in the site (they will have the .html extension)
• Other files containing media like pictures and sounds (with extensions like .jpg, .png, and .wav, to name a few)

All of these files will be a part of your site. They must all go inside one folder. Inside that folder, you may create other folders to organize your files, but none should be outside the mother folder. All of them are her children.

Create a new folder on the Desktop (you can use the menu command File→New Folder) and name it so that you can distinguish it easily. For example, if my site is about ants, my folder might be named mathews-ants.

Launch Mozilla. You will use Mozilla's Composer function to create your website.
