Dear Parents,
We have had a busy February ! Thank you to our Valentine's Party moms, Paige Vohs, Liz Davies, Maureen Pitfield, Hitomi Okamoto, Wellons Moog, and Lisa Lappi, for a lovely party. It was lots of fun. Cate and I were so appreciative of the beautiful cards, flowers, gifts, and candy. You all were very thoughtful. Thank you! What valentine's party have we ever celebrated which ended in with a snow storm and early dismissal for the whole school? It was beautiful. We had a new adventure . . . International Day. On Wednesday, we toured the Museum with our passports and stamped our passport for each country that we visited. On Thursday, we dressed in red to visit countries and enjoy making things that are popular in that area. We enjoyed the performance by the students of the MS
Chinese classes. The moms that put that on with Elise Hawkins' guidance were terrific. In Social Studies we are studying the people who play a big part in our daily lives as in Community helpers. On Tuesday morning Mr. Peebles came to the LS with a visit to the Kindergarten students. He talked to the children about what his day is like at the Lovett School. Afterwards the students asked him some questions. (They asked very interesting questions!) Our 100th day of school was a "flaming" success as I am sure you saw in the picture that Cate posted. Parents we are working on good manners in the cafeteria. Please help us with practice at home. It is important for the children to choose only 3 things when they go through the line. When they eat those things, and if they are still hungry, of course they may have another choice of food. We want to eliminate being wasteful. If your
child drops anything on the floor, please tell them to be responsible for picking it up and helping to keep things neat and tidy. When we leave the table it should look like we found it with the chairs pushed into the table. Most of the children are good eaters. I want this to be a time for them to relax and enjoy. We do need for them to lower their voices and talk to the people at their table. I can't believe that Spring Break is just around the corner. Where has the year gone? I hear there is a little "dusting" of snow expected this week and more morning temps in the 20's. Oh well the groundhog missed it again. Have a good week. Stay warm.
