Most of these depots where once centers of activity in their respective towns. Since the concrete slab replaced the iron rains most  no longer serve their ioriginal purpose. Even though most were initially allowed to deteriorate many have found renewed life. The Gainesville and Toccoa stations are part of the Amtrak system. Many are now community centers; Athens seems the best example of this. Others now house businesses ranging from feed and seed to printing to restaurants; one is now a motorcycle shop. These are the depots I have visited so far.
