Open FileMaker
Pro 8
(from the
loading dock or Applications folder found inside the Macintosh HD)
The icon should look like this: 
Click on
Open Existing File... and
hit return or click on the OK button as shown below.

Now youÕll
see the screen below. You should
click once on the
Remote
button...

In the next
screen Click once on
(172.16.1.56) and double
click on the database you wish to open. In the example below I clicked on
LS Progress
Report. You will be selecting LS 2006 – 2007.fp3

You will be
asked to sign on at this point. A
dialog box will appear that looks as follows:

Make sure to
read the top line before you sign on to make sure you have selected the correct
database.
Account
name: teacher
Password
(lower case): XXXXXXX (same password as last year, ask a
returning teacher or someone from the computer department for this info.)
In this case the
following screen will appear:

Click on the
button that represents your grade level.
The report card will appear.
Next youÕll need to go to View on the menu bar and drag down to Find Mode.
Click in the Teacher field and type in the lead teachers last name and press return.
If you look over on the left youÕll be able to see how many records it
found.

You are now ready
to sort this file. Click on Records from the menu bar and drag down to Sort
Records. (see picture below)

You should now
see a screen that looks like the diagram below. You will need to click on Last Name then click on the Move button as you have in the past. Then click on the Sort button and it will list your students in
alpha order.

You are now ready
to input your information. The TAB key can be used to move the cursor from field to field.
When you are
finished please make sure to quit out of the program. Click on FileMaker Pro from the menu bar and drag down to Quit FileMaker Pro as seen below. Data is saved automatically. You may go back into the database to
complete them at any time by repeating the steps above.
