What is it?

Pride is a volunteer organization comprised entirely of Fifth Grade students whose sole responsibility is the meeting and greeting of parents and students during morning carpool. Students are divided into groups of eight and serve as a PRIDE volunteer for one week at a time several times throughout the year.

How it Works

1.      During the first week of school, The Lower School Students Activities Director will meet with all Fifth Grade classes to explain the concept, philosophy and details of PRIDE.
        Example:  Pride is important because………….
        a.  It is nice for parents and students to arrive at school and be greeted by a happy and enthusiastic person.
        b.  It’s always nice to hear a cheerful “Hello” or “Good Morning”.
        c.  A PRIDE volunteer could possibly change someone’s bad morning into a good morning.

2.      All registration forms must be signed by each individual student, as well as a parent or guardian.  Pride Contracts should be read and signedby the individual student interested in participating in Pride..

3.      All students will be placed in a group, no later then Labor Day.  Please check the Pride website for groups and dates.

4.      All students involved in PRIDE need to arrive at school no later then 7:25 a.m. prepared and ready.

5.      All Pride members need to sign in at the check-in board, put on their safety vests, leave their book bags at the door and join the group outside.

6.      PRIDE students need to know that being a part of PRIDE is a privilege and not a requirement, however - IT IS A COMMITMENT.
