CIVIL
RIGHTS HISTORY: 1865-1900
Poster project
DIRECTIONS: This week you are
going to view the art display in the main hallway. You are to use that time to
get ideas to aid with the poster project you will start today and complete in
class. The blank piece of paper attached is to be used to sketch and write down
ideas for you poster, I will look at what ideas you had when scoring your
poster. After viewing the exhibit you may use the computer lab to print photos
from the Internet to use on your poster. Be aware that the poster must reflect
your ideas and not the Internets.
POSTER
PROJECT:
Posters are designed to transfer knowledge, invoke an emotion, or promote an
activity or cause. Today you are going to design a poster with the theme of
Early Civil Rights History, with the goal of invoking an emotion by those who
view it. Your poster does not have to reflect the negative emotion, even though
we have been discussing very negative events, it can reflect family life,
working, or leisure activities in the African American community. If you want
to focus on sports or entertainment as a theme, Chapter 10 and 11 in book 9 are
very helpful. Your poster must represent an idea, event or person from American
History, other than that you are free to create anything you wish. You may cut
out pictures from the Internet to supplement to your poster as well. Good luck
and be creative!!!
